Twenty-two of Grenada's 33 Olympians have competed in athletics. They have also taken part in boxing and swimming. At the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Alleyne FRANCIQUE finished fourth in the men's 400m, the best performance to date by a Grenadan.
In Beijing he competed in his third Olympic Games. Grenada's team of nine in 2008 was their largest to date.
