Сан-Томе и Принсипи / Sao Tome and Principe

Sao Tome and Principe were first represented by two athletes at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.


Odair BAIA ran the men's 100m and Sortelina PIRES the women's 100m.


Naide GOMES represented Sao Tome and Principe at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games over 100m hurdles but she later competed for Portugal in the heptathlon.


Before 2008, they had competed only in athletics but canoeist Alcino SILVA was part of their team in Beijing.


Sao Tome and Principe have yet to win an Olympic medal.
