Чад / Chad

Chad first competed under their own flag at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games. They have taken part in athletics, boxing and judo.

Twenty-one of their 24 competitors have been track and field athletes. Mhamat IDRISS placed ninth in the men's high jump at the Tokyo 1964 Games. He had previously represented France in 1960 and was the first athlete from Chad to have taken part in three Olympic Games.

Rosalie GANGUE became Chad's first female Olympian when she ran in the 800m and 1500m at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. Kaltouma NADJINA carried the flag for Chad when she contested the 200m and 400m at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.

She also competed at Sydney 2000 and was her country's only representative at Athens in 2004, when she reached the 400m semifinals. Chad sent two athletes to Beijing.

Fifteen-year-old Hinkissa NDIKERT competed in the women's 100m and Moumi SEBERGUE in the men's 100m.
